Tornado touched down next to the house & garage, got Dick Matheney's car, the garage & a dozen trees, we were practicing( Leatherwood Valley Bluegrass Band )near the patio door when it went by,it shook the house some but not a scratch on any of us !! *LITTLE GRANTVILLE BLUEGRASS BUILDING OK !!!

"The Show Went On"

The "flood of 2008 happened to arrive at festival time,we here in Bedford In. experienced a total 5 minutes of rain but north of us President Bush has called it a disaster area. Some bands could not make it to the festival,the ones that could filled the gaps & we had a good show. Attendance was down some but understandable under the circumstances.It is amazing to me the wealth of talent in this area & it was on display again here for our spring festival. Being from upstate New York & retired from GM for 12 yrs now it would be almost impossible for me to leave this area with their great folks & great music for the natural bioligical urge to return home to my Family & loved ones. For me there is a natural pull for this music that I can not explain & cannot deny, so here Patty & I stay.
Also have to mention Kentucky Rain Playing a show for us on Sunday & just to show what these boys are made of they stretched their show to over 1hr to accomidate 2 bands that could not make it & even though the attendance was down they played here at Little Grantville like they were playing to a National audience. Summary;l These are good old Kentucky Boys that happen to play the best bluegrass music that is out there !!

Thankyou to all the bands that played here,The helpers,kitchen duty,PATTY,VICKIE,SAM,TABBY,ALYSSA. Sound,MARTY MUNDY ( Kentucky Rain wanted to take Marty with them ),BOB HAMLIN,LOWELL FLYNN

Patty & I attended the deployment ceromonies for the 76th Infantry Brigade at the RCA Dome, they were bussed from the Dome to Ft Stewart Georgia for 2 months, Kiwait for additional training & then Iraq
