Camp Castrell? Tenyse, July the 11, 1862 Well William I am going to try this morning to write you a few lines to inform you I am well and hope this may find you the same. I came out on picket gard this morning I am one mile from the Camp ground. I have to stay here till tomorrow morning and it is raining a little and I have got under a little bush and have spread my oil blanket over me and trying to write William I don't get no letters atall any more half the time we don't get mail William I am going to try this evening to git to go to Camp for there is a liutenant out of copany B going to startto Indiana in the morning and I want to send this letter with some money in it I don't no how much I will send yet I will no when I get to Camp and when I send it to you I want to buy me fifty cents worth of stamps and send me about 25 cents worth at a time amd William just keep this money till I send you word and take the money out to buy these stamps and to pay the Exspress and I will send to word soon soon what to do with it William Write soon and often Sarah when you write give me all the particulars I remain your brother James H Richison to William Caldwell and Sarah
