  Vicksburg Miss July 31st
Wm. Caldwell, Sir,

		Owing to a request James H Richison
 made of me the night before he died, I take this
 opportunity of making that request known to you.	
acording to promis, he wanted me to Say to you that
 R C Bohart held a Note against him and he wanted 
you to use Some of his money in paying off that 
Note if Andrew Richison had not paid it.   Jims 
death was very unexpected to us all. I Saw
 A H Caldwell the other day he was well and seemed
to be in fine sperits my helth is good. nothing more
 but remain yours truly,
