2007-2008 Energy Assistance Program

 

Hoosier Uplands will once again be offering assistance with winter heating bills for low income residents of Lawrence, Orange, Martin and Washington Counties.  All applicants must apply in their county of residence.

 

This service is provided through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Block Grant, a federally funded block grant through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

 

This agency will begin accepting applications from elderly, disabled or households in crisis on October 9, 2007.

 

Elderly and disabled households who have not previously received their Mail-In Energy Assistance Packet may contact their respective county office to schedule their appointment.

 

Applications for the remainder of the households will be accepted beginning October 29, 2007.  To schedule your appointment call your respective county beginning October 1, 2007.  You will be assigned an appointment time and date.

Eligibility for the Energy Program will be limited to those households with a confirmed income at or below 150% of the Office of Management and Budget Poverty Guidelines.  Appointments are scheduled on a first call first schedule basis.  Applications will be completed for all appointments and these applications will be funded as long as grant dollars are available.

To calculate for larger families add $5,220.00 for each additional household member.
