Home Heating

• Have at least 6 inches of insulation in attic floor.
• Weather-strip windows, doors, attic door or trapdoor.
• Caulk around exterior doors, windows, and ceiling fixtures upstairs.
• Insulate unheated basement ceilings. 
• Close drapes at night, open in daytime.

• Properly insulate, caulk, weather-strip.
• Locate thermostat where it will accurately measure temperature;  mount on level and keep free of dust.
• Set air conditioning thermostat no lower than 78-80 and don't keep changing.
• Keep shades down, drapes drawn.
