Strategic Prevention Framework - State Incentive Grant
(SPF-SIG)
Hoosier Uplands was awarded $148,750
in funding from the Family and Social Services Administration
Department of Mental Health and Addiction (FSSA DMHA).
SPF-SIG is a program that has five areas of focus:
Assessment, Evaluation, Planning, Capacity, and Implementation.
The main goals of the grant are to significantly reduce
substance abuse throughout the county, reduce the amount of
underage drinking, create community awareness of the alcohol
problem locally, and to work with the community to plan and
implement programs that will significantly make a difference in
the county. A huge part of the program is collecting data
and information on substance abuse that will be put in an
epidemiological profile. Once the data has been collected,
the Local Coordinating Council (LCC) and other community members
will put together a strategic plan to focus on ways to improve
the substance abuse problem that exists.
Ryan Fields serves
as the project's primary point of contact
for this grant.
