COMMON GROUND is a consulting firm that is responsive to client needs in designing workshops and trainings. Linda S. Emmert and Karen L. Decker, co-founders of COMMON GROUND, design workshops that are catalysts for personal and professional growth. The integration of community/team building, modeling, respect, bias awareness, affirmation and problem solving into all client-requested topics maximizes the benefits of the workshops. An awareness about the need for good communication skills, knowledge about the roots of conflict, and the acceptance of personal responsibility are common threads in this transformational group process.Linda S. Emmert and Karen L. Decker co-facilitate experiential learning workshops on a wide variety of topics for clients of all ages in the public and private sectors. The structure and process used by COMMON GROUND encourages positive change through awareness. The synergistic team has a background in social work, criminal justice, mediation, and education. Karen is also certified to facilitate the outdoor Challenge Course at Columbus Youth Camp, Columbus, IN. Both are trained in the Creative Response to Conflict program and have been connected with CRC's Nyack, NY branch for well over a decade.
